In this tour, we'll take you into the heart of the highlands of East Iceland to show you some of our favorite sites.
The tour starts in Egilsstaðir and from there we'll to the valley Fljótsdalur where we can visit Snæfellsstofa, which is a Visitor Center for the National Park of Vatnajökulsþjóðgarður. From there we'll venture into the highlands, and our first stop is the highland dam at Kárahnjúkar. The dam overlooks one of Iceland's largest canyons, Hafrahvammagljúfur. After taking in the view we'll venture to the canyon for a closer look. At a depth of 200 meters/650 feet and stretching on for about 8 km/5 miles it is one of Iceland's deepest and most impressive canyons.
Next, it is on to the valley Jökuldalur and the ravine Stuðlagil that is draped with lang basalt columns on either side.
The tour is operated from the 20th of June until the 15th of September.
Minimum: 8 passengers
