Terms and conditions
All booking agreements are between Tanni Travel and the client.
Booking and Payment
Tanni Travel confirms a booking when it is fully paid by a client, or an agreed deposit has been paid. Once Tanni Travel has accepted a booking and received a payment, the contract between Tanni Travel and client will become binding.
Children
Children under the age of 18 cannot use the services of Tanni Travel without being accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.
Discount for children varies on our tours as we offer tours from different operators who have their own terms regarding discount for children. Please note that not all tours are suitable for children. This is stated when a booking is made.
Cancellation of Booking
Any cancellation must be notified in writing by the person who made the booking.

Private bookings, groups or individuals
When a privately set-up tour is cancelled, day tours or multi-day tours, the following cancellation fee will be applicable:
Changes or Cancellation by Tanni Travel
We reserve the right to change any of the facilities or services described on our website. We also reserve the right to cancel or change tours, due to weather and/or road conditions or if the minimum number of clients required for a tour is not fulfilled. We will inform you about all changes in advance and if we have to completely alter the tour we offer you to either cancel your booking and get a full refund or change it to another tour. We do not refund any personal expenses you may have incurred such as domestic flight, accommodation, travel insurance, equipment, visas, vaccinations etc.
Information Provided
Any information provided by Tanni Travel on such matters as climate, clothing, baggage, special equipment etc. is given in good faith and as guidelines but without responsibility on the part of Tanni Travel.
Client Responsibility
You agree on, that it is your responsibility to have a level of fitness commensurate with your chosen tour and that you are responsible for bringing the appropriate equipment if not stated otherwise in the tour description.
The service providers do not assume any responsibility for accidents which are caused by their clients or can be traced to their own actions.
When undertaking a recreation which includes driving a vehicle of any kind, the client needs to be at least 17 years old and hold a valid drivers licence.
Personal Travel Insurance
Individual travel insurance is not included in the quoted prices. It is strongly recommended that clients take out a comprehensive travel insurance against contingencies, including compensation for medical costs and cancellation fees. In the event of emergency medical rescue and/or repatriation from a tour by whatever means, the responsibility of such costs will be the clients.
All luggage and personal equipment are, at all times, at your own risk. We will not be responsible in any way for any loss, damage to your luggage and/or personal equipment.
Medical & Dietary Conditions
If you are affected by a medical condition which may affect your or other people's enjoyment of the tour, you must advise this at the time of booking. Similarly you must advise us of dietary conditions and preferences at the time of booking.
Independent Travel Arrangements
Tanni Travel will not be responsible or liable for your actions or your safety for any independent travel you undertake before, during or after the tour.
Complaints Procedure
If you have a complaint about the tour you should make it known to your guide/leader at the earliest opportunity. If you feel your complaint has not been properly dealt with we shall endeavour to agree a settlement with you.
Any outstanding complaint not resolved during the tour should be notified to us in writing within 30 days of the scheduled date of return.
Our Liability & Compensation
Tanni Travel will accept liability for the negligence of its employees causing direct physical injury to passengers only to the extent that it is obliged under Icelandic law. We cannot be held responsible for any mishap to yourself or your property, and in particular for the consequences of flight cancellations, vehicle accidents, strikes, sickness, Government, customs or police intervention or other such happenings amounting to force majeure. By confirming your booking with Tanni Travel you acknowledge that we have taken all reasonable steps to safeguard its liability in this respect.
Variation of Booking Conditions
The booking conditions may only be waived by a director of Tanni Travel in writing. When you confirm the booking form you agree to accept all these booking conditions, and when we accept your booking we agree to carry out our obligations to you as defined in tour information provided to you.
Both sides of this agreement are made subject to, and must be interpreted and enforced according to Icelandic law in an Icelandic court.

- Cancellations made more than 48 hours prior to departure are fully refunded.
- Cancellations made less then 48 hours prior to departure are not refunded.
Multi-day tours
- If a customer cancels a trip, the following cancellation fee will be applicable :
- 57 days or more - no cancellation fee unless explicitly stated in a private contract between the customer and Tanni Travel.
- 29-56 days prior to departure - 50% of the total amount.
- 15-28 days prior to departure - 60% of the total amount.
- 0-14 days prior to arrival – 100% of the total amount.
Private bookings, groups or individuals
When a privately set-up tour is cancelled, day tours or multi-day tours, the following cancellation fee will be applicable:
- Tour with bus, driver and/or guide
- more than 48 hours - fully refunded
- less than 48 hours - no refund
- Tour excluding hotel bookings
- 31 days or more - fully refunded
- less than 31 day - no refund
- 31 days or more - fully refunded
- Tour including hotel bookings
- 57 days or more - no cancellation fee unless explicitly stated in a private contract between the customer and Tanni Travel.
- 29-56 days prior to departure - 50% of the total amount.
- 15-28 days prior to departure - 60% of the total amount.
